Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) Program

Take charge of your professional development and join our growing group of Anaheim/Orange County (CTA) Tourism Ambassadors. What's a Certified Tourism Ambassador, you ask?

The CTA Program highlights destination history, staying current on all destination offerings and raising the bar on overall customer service provided to our millions of visitors each year.  Participants receive a pre-read binder that becomes their own personal reference manual incorporating a 4-hour training class reviewing how to use resources to enrich visitors' experience.

Program Overview

Created by Mickey Schaefer & Associates in 2007, the CTA Program is a nationally recognized certification program for the tourism and hospitality industries. Classes are offered to all community partners involved in the tourism/hospitality industry (taxi drivers, hotel staff, guest services, attractions, police, fire etc.). There is an initial registration fee for the four-hour training class along with an annual renewal fee.  The program is designed for  everyone including frontline staff, management and executive staff and provides national certification.

The City of Anaheim has supported the development of our destination specific program (Anaheim/Orange County Tourism Ambassadors) since it's inception in February 2009.  .  The program serves to increase tourism by turning every visitor encounter into a positive experience and we currently have more than 680 CTAs so our sights are now set on more than 1000 in the coming year!

CTA Benefits

In addition to being national certified as an Anaheim/OC Tourism Ambassador, CTA's receive special discounts on select attractions, invitations to CTA Program networking events, and other CTA related offerings throughout the year.

Current CTAs enjoy our growing offers as part of the "CTA Freebies & Discounts".  Please submit an offer to this growing group of key frontline staff and management throughout our destination today.
